So far all of these points are in common with other joints. The specific anatomy of the ankle joint can be seen in the picture below. The two upper bones of the ankle joint are the fibula and tibia. These articulate with themselves and also with the lower bone known as the talus. The inside profile surface of the tibia is concave, and that of the talus is convex.
